Jungle Book
Lost in the Jungle By: Sophia (Picture and page formatting in printed edition.) Chapter One Escape In the South American Jungle lays a village. In the village lived Tracy. She's in a sticky situation. “Alright class, how would you defend yourself in a bear attack?” Tracy’s teacher asked. “You slowly walk backwards away from the bear unlike Tracy who would cuddle the bear and suffer terrible injuries,” Stacy said. She was Tracy’s enemy. “Correct. You do not want to cuddle a bear,” our teacher said. “But bears are cuddly and friendly,” Tracy said. “Not exactly friendly. Actually they're not friendly at all,” Stacy said with lots of attitude. “Stacy is right,” the teacher said. 1 Later that night... “How will I escape the village?” Tracy thought. She spent hours thinking of a plan. Then she thought of an idea. “I'll sneak out late at night.” At lunch the next day... Tracy was eating alone like always when she saw her parents come take a seat at the table. She forgot it was when her parents could come for the long lunch. “Why aren't you with the other kids?” her mom (Julia) said. “Because they hate me.” Tracy replied. “No they don't,” Her dad Paul said. “Then why do they bully me and call me names?” There was no answer. They all finished lunch together The day went on, and she wanted to escape more and more. Then midnight came, and she successfully escaped. She then came across a bear. “Hi! What's your name?” Tracy asked the bear. “I'm Mrs. Quinn, and my dream is to be a penguin. Can you play Artic with me? Oh and this is Logan, he dreams to be a hoagie.” Mrs. Quinn said, “I'll play Artic with you, and if Logan was a hoagie that's when he wouldn't want to be a hoagie any more,” Tracy said “He wouldn't live very long.” “Let's play Artic!” Mrs. Quinn 2 shouted. They played for a long period of time. Then Tracy said, “Can you be my teacher?” Mrs. Quinn replied, “Sure, I'm a great teacher. You'll know all about the jungle.” Deeper in the jungle lived Keith and Cal who are both tigers that heard about Tracy and have a plan. “I heard there is a girl in this jungle. Looks like there will be a meal for us after all,” Cal said anxiously. They haven't eaten for a while now and are ready to eat.” Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go get our lunch!” Keith said excitedly. 3 Chapter Two Missing Back at the village, Julia and Paul were worried about Tracy. “I wonder why she left,” Stacy said giggling. She tried not to laugh. She was so happy her plan worked. She wanted Tracy to get so irritated that she would leave the village to soon get in danger and get badly hurt or even die. The problem was that no one knew Tracy was in danger, so she was on her own. Filled with anger from Stacy, she was happy she escaped successfully. 4 Night came and Tracy slept on the soft grass in the jungle with Mrs. Quinn and cute little Logan. Tracy couldn't resist, and she ended up squeezing Logan like he was a stuffed animal the entire night. In the middle of the night, they got ambushed by the two tigers, Cal and Keith. Fortunately, Mrs. Quinn was able to fend them off, for now. In the morning they found posters that said, “Missing Girl.” “ That looks like you, Tracy, “Mrs. Quinn said. “That's because it is,” Tracy said sighing. 5 “Let me go get my friend Sath the panther. Also Cal and Keith are planning to kill you. They say there's no room for you in the jungle.” Mrs. Quinn said, “ It won't help if the village thinks you're missing.” “Okay, I'll stay here with Logie bear while you go get Sath,” Tracy said. They wait by a big, tall jungle tree. 6 Chapter Three Attack They heard something rustle in the thicket. Then they saw two large tigers pounce at them. Tracy ran and hid while Logan fought Cal. Keith kept searching for Tracy. A while later Mrs. Quinn came back to see that Logan defeated Cal, and Tracy shook with fear. “What happened!?” Mrs. Quinn shouted startledly with Sath behind her. “Mama, I protected Tracy,” Logan said. “You shouldn't have fought a tiger alone,” Mrs. Quinn said. “He saved me!” Tracy said still trembling from the attack. 7 “Well we still have a long way to go before we defeat Keith. He’ll go crazy just to get to you and probably harm you...” Sath’s words trailed off. “He’s coming!” Sath shouted as he heard a rustle come from the thicket, again. They dashed off as they thought of a plan to defeat Keith. 8 Late at night... “How will we defeat Keith?” Tracy asked. “Umm, oh I know, let’s surround him with cheetahs, and as he's distracted, we’ll sneak up from behind and attack,” Logan said. “And we’ll wait till he has eaten and taken a drink.” In the night... Keith had a meal and a long drink before he headed toward the rock wall on the edge of the jungle not expecting anybody to be there. He started to get closer to the trap. 9 Chapter Four Defeat That morning... Logan got his cheetah friends and told them the plan. They headed to the location and made a half open circle hidden in the dark. Then they waited. Late at night... They knew that Keith had dinner and a drink. Then they saw him approach and entered the circle. They closed the circle and gradually made the circle smaller. Twenty minutes later... “Attack!” Tracy said. They all charged. At the end all was… not calm. “Everybody stop and separate. We don’t want to hurt each other.” Tracy said. They did it, they defeated Keith. Now it’s time to go back home. 10 Chapter Five Home “I think I should head back to the village,” Tracy said “You can come visit us whenever you want,” Mrs. Quinn said. Tracy headed back to the village, where her parents threw her a welcome back party, and in the distance, they heard Stacy say, “Nooooo!” Their teacher quickly caught on and put Stacy in a different class than her friends and Tracy. “Ugh,” Stacy complains about her class. “Lesson learned,” Sophia says standing behind a hut looking into the classroom window. She opened a porta and jumped in to join up with her Super Friends. 11 Chapter Six Super Friends “Mission completed. What’s next?” Sophia asked “Let’s see…” Kamryn said. “How did it go?” Jillian asked. “Well,” Sophia replied. At the base under the jungle, they planned their next jungle adventure with the help of Lauren the penguin who lives in the Arctic, and they communicated through advanced technology. Sophia, Kamryn, Jillian, and Lauren all have super powers in common including speed, flight, invisibility, and immortality. They all have the same powers. Then they heard Kamryn ask, “Found it! You guys ready?” “Let's go!” Jillian said. 12 The End Stay tuned for the next book. 13
